Melissa, known to most as Mellyia, is a seasoned hairstylist and makeup artist with over 25 years of experience, based in Albany, New York. She is passionate about the beauty industry. Mellyia strives to create a welcoming atmosphere of light and love for every client, infusing joy and laughter into each service. Whether it’s creative coloring, the perfect haircut, or specialized services like curly hair, extensions and NSG systems, she ensures that every guest walks away feeling their best. She is behind the chair 4 days a week while also serving as an associate educator, mentoring the next generation of stylist for her salon.

An avid gardener, she takes great pride in growing much of her own food from seed, having harvested over 250 pounds of vegetables last year alone—much to the delight of her neighbors. When she’s not in the garden, Mellyia enjoys unwinding with a good book, a captivating movie or show, or diving into her latest crochet project. She also has a passion for making sourdough bread and cooking from scratch, often whipping up delicious meals for friends and family to enjoy.
